We are practically through January; is it too ambitious to say Spring is coming? When we talk trends and inspiration, for many of us the season is already in full swing. The color forecasts are spirited and leading the way for design direction. What we are loving most is the dynamic and unapologetic optimism exuded in these palettes. Color has a way of delivering an unspoken message and for SS ’17 things are looking especially bright.

Strawberry Fields: Feminine and fresh, this combination tips it hat to the past while infusing spunk from current times. Soft pinks in a variety of shades pay homage to the 1950’s and work in a sportsmanlike fashion with gorgeous greens in kelly, malachite, moss, and olive.

Parisian Pastels: Has anyone ever argued with the beauty of pastels? Soft shades that identify with all the fun and fantasy one can imagine-- cotton candy, sherbet ice cream, mermaids wearing flower crowns, and what sources say unicorns are made of-- these charming tones incarnated in Parisian sophistication will be everywhere this season.

Mondrian Manifesto: Going Dutch a la Piet Mondrian will be all the rage when the summer months arrive. The primary palette that inspired the artist’s post-war work has been rejuvenated with pastels ensuring a present day balance.  The result is a prismatic playing field that delights all the senses.

Tropical Technicolor: The tropics and summer go hand in hand because when the heat is on- the heat is on. And this season, it is on in a vibrant array of color! A bold curation of the rainbow’s most valuable players with a dark base, this team of energetic pigments is the life of the party and will give even the simplest of designs a beautiful complexity.
